General Insurance is a leading provider of insurance products and services for commercial and personal insurance customers. Lead Business Analyst leading a team of BAs, responsible for requirements gathering on assigned initiatives within the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP).
Responsibilities and Capabilities required:
Managing/Leading a team of Business Analysts to produce business/system process flows, and define low level requirements, for new or changes to existing SCUP components.
Ability to lead workshops with Business Subject Matter Experts (Underwriting, Operations, Actuarial etc), across geographical regions and Lines of Business, to elicit Business requirements.
Ability to facilitate meetings with divergent Business Subject Matter Experts, and IT Architects, while driving consensus on requirements.
Ability to manage and mentor a team of less senior BAs.
Ability to transform Business requirements to detailed System requirements.
Document requirements to allow business partners prioritize and verify requirements, while minimizing unnecessary variation.
Ability to work directly with IT Architects and Development teams to explain and answer questions on requirements, and triage defects.
Channel business input to solution design, and validate against business objectives.
Proactively chase open questions/issues to drive requirements Artefacts to approval.
Conduct quality review of Requirements artefacts produced by less senior BA roles.
Ability to lead Business demos with Senior Leadership.
Build effective working relationships with business partners, and across the project team at all levels, to aid effective collaboration and communication.
Experience Required
10+ years full life cycle experience in a similar position (with similar responsibilities to those described above) required.
Experience defining Product Frameworks (including Product Definition, rules, inheritance) with Duck Creek technology.
Prior experience in Commercial Insurance required
Prior experience working in an International environment is an advantage
Process and workflow improvement experience required
For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $93,000-$138,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
