Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide an environment where student athletes can succeed both academically and athletically in men’s tennis. Provide instruction, training and motivation to prepare student athletes for practices, games, or competitive events. Demonstrate/instruct student athletes on sport performance principles, game strategies, and safety rules. Provide sport program management to the head coach. Evaluate student athlete’s strengths and weaknesses as possible recruit or to improve the current student athletes technique to prepare them for competition. Serve as mentor to student athletes with academic and personal issues. Provide functional supervision to temporary student employees.

Minimum Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Has 1-4 years of work experience as an assistant tennis coach at an NCAA Division I institution (men’s team experience preferred)

  • Can show evidence of successful scouting and recruiting experience both nationally and Internationally

  • Has experience playing tennis at the NCAA DI level

  • Should be well-traveled and have experienced different cultures

  • Should have in depth knowledge of Division I sports (tennis specifically) and the ability to make match management decisions

  • Can communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and players in the United States and worldwide due to the global nature of the tennis program

  • Will work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people

  • Should be detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment

  • Should have knowledge of and be confident in using Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Leadership Studies or related field.
