The Role

As a Senior Lead Operations Analyst for the AI Governance team, you will provide high-level support and apply project management skills to develop and implement AI governance processes. You will act as a technical resource, collaborating with other teams to identify inefficiencies, develop solutions, and make recommendations to improve the AI governance framework. Additionally, you will work closely with AI governance and data governance teams to ensure cohesive strategies and practices. Your role will involve analyzing and modifying the configurations of AI governance tools and workflows to achieve optimum performance while adhering to corporate and budgetary guidelines. You will ensure that AI systems are deployed, installed, and maintained effectively, maintaining service level agreements and promoting responsible AI practices.

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the strategy, planning, and successful completion of AI governance and data governance business processes. Create, maintain, and update the AI governance program content, structure, policies, and processes.

  • Manage escalations of a complex nature from internal organizations seeking approval of their AI initiatives.

  • Assist with new tools, frameworks, standards, and services related to AI governance, such as Lumen AI Ethics or standard frameworks like MLOps and LLMOps.

  • Analyze, recommend, and implement configuration changes for AI projects within Lumen in accordance with the AI governance tools to ensure compliance to regulatory standards.

  • Provide a range of service assurance support for new and existing AI governance products and services.

  • Document and maintain functional troubleshooting procedures for AI governance to assist the support capabilities of the AI governance team.

  • Create research journals/notes during escalations to facilitate problem determination and decrease resolution cycle-time.

  • Develop, implement, and administer processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability, and optimum performance of AI governance tools and initiatives.

  • Serve as a technical resource to team members, as well as other departments, in the implementation of AI governance projects and subsequent maintenance activities.

  • Prepare and present reports that keep management abreast of the status of AI governance projects and technical problems.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert single and point of contact for vendors and other organizations regarding AI governance.

  • Collect and analyze performance data for AI governance tools. Define, recommend, and implement changes to methods and procedures used to deploy AI governance services.

  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members regarding AI governance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Information Systems Management, Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or Risk Management.

  • 10 years of experience in business operations within the AI and cloud domain, including direct involvement with AI product deployment.

  • Strong understanding of the AI lifecycle and governance principles.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and skills in identifying and mitigating risks in business contexts.

  • Proficiency in administering and automating AI governance tools.

  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques, methodologies, and the AI lifecycle, as well as common technologies such as generative AI.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in technical areas related to AI governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong software development and coding abilities in Python, R, SQL, and PowerBI.

  • Experience with ethical AI assessment, responsible AI tools, MLOps, and LLMOps technical frameworks.

  • Familiarity with software engineering practices such as CI/CD, unit testing, and version control with GIT, and a willingness to learn new industry standards or frameworks like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

  • Experience in developing Responsible AI solutions and ethical AI assessments, including considerations for data privacy, transparency, and accountability in AI systems.

  • Knowledge of data privacy, fairness, accountability, and inclusivity in AI systems.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
