ITC Defense Accountant- Government Contracting in Charleston, South Carolina

Statement of Work

Location: Charleston, SC (or remote)

Position:  Accountant Government Contracting

Overview: We are looking for someone who is interested in all aspects of Government Contracting accounting and wants to work in a growth-focused, small business environment. This position supports and works with all parts of the company to include Management, Project Control, Human Resources, Operations, and our Programs. Schedule is flexible as some international teams may require support later in the evening or early morning from time to time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable, Paying Bills, Recording

  • Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Recording

  • Post and reconcile bi-weekly payroll

  • Maintain Chart of Accounts

  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and maintain supporting schedules

  • Analyze and correct errors in general ledger

  • Payroll Tax set-up/administration

  • Sales Tax/Property Tax administration

  • Project Accounting including WBS set-up, billing set-up, labor category maintenance, work authorization, and reporting

  • Timesheet and expense report administration and approvals, providing employee assistance as needed

  • Fixed Assets tracking

  • Accounting software administration

  • Corporate credit card administration

  • File and digitize accounting paperwork

  • Assist with monthly project control

  • Assist with Incurred Cost Submission Preparation, DCAA audits, Provisional Billing Rate development

  • Monthly accounting reports creation, review and analysis, delivery

  • ISO 9001 Purchasing Process Owner and related activities and record keeping

  • Support ITC leadership in financial reviews, policy and procedure drafting, decision making, audits, corporate tax preparation, etc.

  • Other tasks as assigned

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting for federal contracting

  • Solid understanding of Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) accounting standards, processes, rules and regulations

  • Demonstrated proficiency in federal contracting accounting software, preferably PROCAS Accounting and PROCAS Time & Expense

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision to produce consistently exceptional work

  • Ability to organize large quantities of diverse data into concise and useful information

  • Proficiency in oral and written communications and demonstrated ability to prepare and present briefings to leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, high stress environment

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in related field

  • Experience using Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)

  • ISO 9001:2015 Process Owner experience

  • Experience leading the development of Incurred Cost Submissions, Provisional Billing Rates

  • Audit experience, particularly DCAA audit experience

  • Project Control experience

  • Understanding of IFRS, international transactions, and exchange rates
