Job Description Summary

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material needs between Production and Supplier commitments / capabilities to meet customer expectations.

  • A job at this level requires a people leader with ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how their own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Use judgement to create solutions outside the standard, based on their technical expertise and analytical thinking. Coordinate conversation to develop buy-in and achieve decisions. Review and consider alignment with Sr Management expectations and requirements.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects to improve flow / communication between departments with a lean mindset. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Optimize process improvements.

  • Develop strategies for internal and external communication of supplier’s requirements, performance and expectations.

  • Advise of potential capacity risk and coordinate solutions with other departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of experience

  • OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 12 years of experience in Supply chain or Business Administration.

Desired Characteristics

  • Escalation and presentation of information to Upper Management.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Established project management skills: Ability to document, plan, market, and execute projects.

  • Advanced SAP knowledge

  • Expert Excel skills

  • Organized.
