Description

We are inviting applications for the role of VP/Director of Finance in our organization located in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is central to our business operations, providing strategic oversight to the financial programs and activities across various departments. The role will involve a wide array of responsibilities from budgetary accounting, treasury management, to risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial programs and operations across multiple departments including Administration, Utilities, Public Safety, and Municipal Court.

• Implement and drive financial goals, while recommending policies and procedures related to all financial matters.

• Prepare detailed financial reports consistently, ensuring compliance with GASB Statement.

• Direct and participate in the review of all financial transactions, enforcing compliance with audited standards as per state and federal law.

• Manage the collection and accounting of all revenues, including property tax revenue, franchise fees, business license fees, water and sewer taps revenue.

• Compile departmental budget requests and establish controls to ensure that expenditures do not exceed budgetary appropriations.

• Oversee the administration of business licenses and maintain the organization's list of all agreements and/or contracts for services and products.

• Coordinate the annual independent audit and review recommendations for future implementation.

• Manage the purchase and updating of all insurance programs, including workers' compensation, health, life, dental, and supplemental coverage.

• Invest the organization's funds in accordance with state laws, computing financial returns and costs to evaluate and recommend financing alternatives.

• Assist in preparing the annual budget and report directly to the Town Administrator.

• Supervise subordinate staff, providing guidance, direction, instruction, and assistance as needed.

• Attend all Town Council meetings.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance leadership role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is a must

• Experience with Concur software is needed

• Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems is essential

• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is required

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is required

• Experience in developing the Annual Budget is a must

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures is essential

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary
