This is a HYBRID role, work on-site in Chantilly, VA one day a week and work 4 days a week remote-telework from home. Salary range is 75-85K depending on experience. US Citizenship is required to apply.

The Tax Accountant, Sales and Use Tax will report to the Director of Tax and will be primarily responsible for assisting with Amentum’s US indirect tax team. This individual role will be instrumental in furthering Amentum’s best-in-class tax function and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an extremely dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment.

Essential responsibilities:

• Assist with compliance of various indirect tax returns preparation such as sales & use tax, gross receipt tax, personal property tax and excise tax returns.

• Research state and local tax requirements and assist with tax review on various governmental contract taxability.

• Prepare state and local tax exemption forms and various federal tax forms such as W-9 and W-8.

• Assist with tax audits in state and local jurisdictions.

• Prepare monthly and quarter tax journal entries in Costpoint.

• Assist with registering business tax accounts in state and local jurisdictions.

• Communication with business operation teams to obtain necessary tax data for indirect tax return compliance purpose.

• Work with third party consultants on transmitting various indirect tax returns.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

• Two years of relevant tax experience in a tax role

• Knowledge of sales tax laws, regulations, and processes

• Microsoft Word and high proficiency in Excel Costpoint experience a plus

• Good communication skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and adapt to changes

• Experience with high volume of tax returns a plus

• Chantilly, VA (hybrid role with 1 day a week on-site in our Chantilly, VA office and 4 days a week working remote-telework from your home office)

• US Citizenship is required
