In support of the FBI’s Finance and Facilities Division (FFD) Customer Advocacy Unit (CAU) Ask Finance team. Koniag is seeking a highly motivated Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing engaging curriculum and learning materials, and overseeing all aspects of training interventions.You will serve as a lead for education initiatives that are for over 6,000 users across all FFD-supported enterprise systems.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong passion for learning and development, excellent instructional design skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and engage with employees at all levels. Your creativity, attention to detail, and organizational abilities will be critical in delivering impactful training initiatives.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and producing programs, projects, and strategic communications (e.g., newsletter articles, Ask Finance marketing documentation, user educational videos, etc.)

  • Draft, produce, and disseminate communications to the program office, project teams, FFD stakeholders, and customers to ensure that everyone is aware of important information.

  • Assist in the design, creation, marketing, and dissemination of training-related materials.

  • Create training materials (e.g., step-by-step guides, videos via Captivate, etc.) and/or organize new training curriculum using a basic understanding of supported systems, augmented with knowledge gained through meeting with SMEs.

  • Update training materials, as required, so that up-to-date information is available and published to the end-user web portal, 99% of the time.

  • Create, update, and maintain educational documentation for events, in a variety of formats to relay important system information to end-users in a timely, effective, and cost-efficient manner.

  • Provide Section 508 compliance evaluation, analysis, and remediation of documents to ensure compliance with federal accessibility rules and regulations.

  • Develop new ideas for content pertaining to the financial and facilities communities.

  • Seek ways to further the Ask Finance brand as engaging, interesting, and relevant.

  • Pursue new ways to reach out to customers that incorporate conventional and unconventional ways to reach Ask Finance’s diverse audience.

  • Make recommendations to government leads on system or business process issues users are facing based on regular outreach conversations with users.

  • Continually gain greater systems knowledge to assist in producing produce communications and training artifacts, while lessening dependence on SMEs and Ask Finance Help Desk staff.

  • Lead and Support training sessions to include virtual Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions, recorded or live virtual sessions, and in-class instruction.

  • Track the status of education events from enrollment to attendance to graduation, providing reports of statistics and trends 99% of the time.

Good to have, but not required:

  • Experience with maintaining and implementing 508 compliances.

  • Experience in a support center organization, providing users' support and customer service.

  • Experience with Confluence and Jira

  • Customer-oriented

  • Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and video editing experience

  • Quick, proactive learner and innovative

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Prior experience supporting or training IT system users.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline; minimum of 1-year relevant professional experience is required if no bachelor’s degree is available.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
