This position is remote and requires quarterly visits to the government customer in Camp Springs, MD.

The objective of the Data Solution Developer is to build and deliver solutions to meet business requirements in accordance with established strategies and ensure short-term and long-term business needs are considered in the design and development of planned solutions. Liaise with management, business, and technology partners to design and develop various solutions. Proactively support the customer, staying in front of the customer with their business needs and seeking opportunities to improve customer satisfaction. This position does not have direct reports and is an individual contributor.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with identifying, building, and executing strategic and tactical capabilities focused on running technology as a business model circled around planning, development, capability design, continuous improvements, communication plans, governance structures and investment prioritization for a large enterprise operation

  • Must be able to work across multiple operational and technical disciplines enabling organizational growth, innovation, and effectiveness

  • Assist with defining and creating future visions and identified areas of opportunity, thus delivering value across people, processes, technology and information

  • Evaluate results and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand format

  • Assist with and/or drive key client deliverables, while ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope

  • Seek innovative and creative solutions to complex technical/business problems within a logical, rigorous, and analytical framework

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions by asking the right questions and digging for the answers

  • Prepare and deliver client presentations and work products/prototypes

  • Identify where improvements and pain-points lie and develop a strategy focused on inserting the correct and maintainable technologies

  • Manage technical projects through the SDLC process and/or an agile, iterative process

  • Scan internal and external environments to identify areas of opportunity development through analysis and inquisitive conversations with subject matter experts

  • Able to articulate with a business case/business model the benefits of change and investment required vs. expected return

  • Manages client expectations by building and expanding relationships; communicating project status issues; preparing reports; identifying and negotiating engagement additions and extensions

  • Strong people management skills, customer interaction skills, process management skills and project management skills

  • Assist the team and our clients in developing and implementing enterprise-wide data analytics and reporting solution(s) based on business strategies and data needs

  • Design effective business and operating models, ITIL capabilities, using enterprise / business architecture best practices

  • A true thought leader willing to both learn, implement, and educate clients on technology design and changes and can streamline discussions and thoughts into clear goals, objectives, actionable items and outcomes

  • Forward thinking individual that has a balance of practical hands-on technical experience but is also capable of accurately and convincingly communicate the value of enterprise architecture across the organization

  • Must be a self-starter that can recognize needs and act with little to no guidance. Able to rapidly understand and apply new concepts

  • Solid experience with MS O365 suite as daily operating tools

  • Previous Federal consulting experience preferred, but not required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Technology/Engineering, Computer Science, Data/Information Science, Business Intelligence, Statistics/Mathematics, or a related field; business-oriented technical degrees will be considered.

  • 3+ years of technical systems development, consulting, and/or IT management experience, preferably with large, enterprise focused initiatives like ETL, CRM, EDW, and/or third-party Data Warehouse solutions

  • Familiarity with reporting tools and visualization techniques (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel)

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business objectives, ensuring that integration solutions meet both technical and functional needs.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional requirements; facilitate sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and define business requirements, business rules, technical requirements, and data flows/integration constructs

  • Develop and deploy prototypes and proofs of concept within the infrastructure

  • Evangelize and drive adoption of recommended solutions and services across the organization

  • Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions to facilitate seamless data flow between disparate systems and applications.

  • Thorough understanding of best practices, data modeling/architectural patterns, data governance, security, and compliance standards within the big data ecosystem; experience with underlying infrastructure for Big Data Platforms

  • Develop custom reports and dashboards using reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, develop business metrics and KPIs to measure productivity and performance of systems, programs, projects, etc. and visualize data insights effectively

  • Implement data aggregation, summarization, and visualization techniques to present information in a clear and actionable format.

  • Familiarity with/knowledge of Software development, applications system management, technology management, and vendor management

  • Ability to develop strategy roadmaps & execution plans

  • Present your work to the business audience, team members and other stakeholders

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
