Bongards' Creameries Traffic Coordinator in Chanhassen, Minnesota

Description Job Summary: Bongards' Creameries is seeking an organized, pleasant individual to be a Traffic Coordinator. The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and securing transportation for shipments to and from Bongards' facilities and outside facilities we are contracted with. This position reports to the Director of Transportation and Logistics and will be based out of the Chanhassen, MN facility. Job Duties: Maintain freight charges in a manner that optimizes service while maintaining cost efficiency. Plan and execute transportation for customer and internal shipments including carrier selection, mode optimization, and cost optimization while maintaining target customer service levels. Build multi-stop truckloads from LTL orders where cost effective and desired service levels can be achieved. Solicit and negotiate spot market truckload pricing Monitor status of pending shipment and those in transit to ensure freight moves as planned and exceptions are communicated to affected parties along with proper feedback to carriers. Provide track and trace information as requested by sales and customer service. Reviews and approve freight invoices in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and obtain adjustments on overcharges for unapproved services, delays, demurrage or other unwarranted charges Files claims with carriers as directed. Ensures we have a current insurance certificate for any carriers we do business with. Ensure compliance of all Company policies, procedures, and practices at all times. Comply with Federal, State, and Company policies, procedures and regulations. Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies. Report all food safety concerns or problems to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement. Provide freight quotes to sales and customer service as requested. Ability to handle emergency issues as they arise during non-office hours from time to time. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3-5 year's experience in Transportation/Logistics Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in all of the Microsoft Office Products Strong analytical problem solving skills to address and solve real time issues Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently on assigned duties Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well cross-functionally with sales, production, shipping, warehousing and customer service. High school diploma or educational equivalent required. Certificate in Logistics, Transportation or Business preferred.
