Buildings Digital Practice

The Buildings Digital Practice team exists to ensure a continued focus on exploration, to foster and support innovation, and continually challenge perspectives. Our global team of subject matter experts and technologists are dedicated to helping our global Buildings practice of architects, interior designers, and engineers. From project management tools, risk mitigation, and education, to process improvement and best practices for design production, the Buildings Digital Practice team provides a core group of services to support Buildings growing practice.

Your Opportunity:

As a Regional Digital Delivery Lead you will provide regional leadership, as a part of Stantec Building’s digital transformation, ensuring that each office in your region has the necessary technical expertise, and is aligned with Building’s processes to efficiently and successfully win and execute exceptional projects.

You will also help us ensure that our local project teams can proactively engage with Clients around their technology needs and how that overlaps with our design services and digital offerings.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Infuse digital literacy into our culture as a primary driver of our Business.

  • To provide regional leadership, as a part of Stantec’s digital transformation, ensuring that each Business Center (BC) has the necessary technical expertise, and is aligned with Building’s processes to efficiently and successfully win and execute exceptional projects.

  • Ensure that our local project teams can proactively engage with Clients around their technology needs and how that overlaps with our design services and digital offerings.

  • Serve as Regional representative of Buildings Digital Practice helping teams and BCs develop and implement BIM best practices and process improvements.

  • Act as the Regional subject matter expert for all design modeling and analysis software, technology, and best practices.

  • Assist BC leadership and project management, within region, in strategic pursuit and project planning ensuring that expectations are clear, scope defined, and project plan complete to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.

  • Core focus to provide BC leadership (within region, multiple offices) with technical expertise ensuring consistency of product and process in support of Buildings design delivery.

  • Represents Regional practice needs via active participation in the regular Digital Practice Coordination meetings.

  • Acts as liaison for technology related subject matter both internally and externally.

  • Influences, implements, and supports interdisciplinary standards and process improvements related to digital project delivery.

  • Provides direction and assists project teams with project scope, approach, setup, and delivery including the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BXP), model matrices, and other supporting digital scope documentation for each project.

  • Contributes to the ongoing maintenance of the Stantec Buildings digital project delivery environment.

  • Reviews project plans and projects to ensure quality and cohesion in accordance with company or client standards.

  • Evaluates and recommends design, BIM, and other potentially related technologies.

  • Creates and leads regular end user support meetings and training.

  • Communicates Business Line initiatives to BC.

  • Provides in-house technical expertise and support as needed.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Proven track record of successful project delivery; AE design projects

  • Thorough understanding of Buildings systems design, layout, and coordination

  • Expert level knowledge of current modeling, drafting, visualization software required; including but not limited to the Autodesk Buildings suite and associated plug-ins.

  • Strong understanding of design coordination/clash detection process and technology

  • Demonstrated understanding and expertise with all industry business software (Microsoft Office Suite) and project coordination methods (Lean, IPD,…) also expected.

  • Ability to respond to and address occasional off-hours project and/or support requirements.

  • Successfully manage multiple priorities and lead others in BC technology initiatives.

  • Expert level Microsoft product user; Office365 Suite including Visio and Project

  • Expert knowledge of latest Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Revit, Navis Manage, A360, BIM 360, and BIM 360 Field at a minimum.

  • Functional knowledge of other common industry products; Bluebeam, Newforma, Sketchup, and Dynamo at a minimum.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 10 years’ experience in the AE industry preferred.

  • 7 years’ experience with BIM technologies and process required

  • 5 years management experience required.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $103,800 - $155,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI

  • $111,400 - $167,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

  • SF Area $118,900 / Other CA Area $103,800 - SF Area $178,400 / Other CA Area $167,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
