What you\'ll do:

  • Operate to ensure a safe working environment to achieve and maintain an accident-free workplace. Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practice and enforce safe work behaviors and drive those behaviors throughout the organization.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and HACCP Pre-requisite Programs related to activities performed for this position and ensure employee compliance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting processing problems and maintenance issues impacting production to keep production moving at a pace that will ensure orders ship without interruption and that product meets customer expectations.
  • Attend staff and planning meetings as well as Critical Defect and PIP meetings to establish priorities for production, plan for changes in schedule, set plans for dealing with continuing or recurring problems with product, outline goals and brainstorm ideas for improvements to operations.
  • Respond to and manage personnel issues and communicate critical information.
  • Manage staff and personnel so as to meet labor, production, efficiency, scrap, downtime, and housekeeping objectives.
  • Coordinate with other department managers to ensure adequate resources are available to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance training program so as to continuously develop personnel.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement program.

What you\'ll need to have:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply management, operations research, manufacturing management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in plastic processing and or food grade manufacturing
  • Departmental management, ability to communicate with employees at all levels
