NY1499786 Hydraulic Technician Level 3. Full time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week for Mohawk, Ltd. in Chadwicks, NY.

SUMMARY: Will act as lead with the troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and refurbishing of a wide variety of equipment, using test equipment as required. Has the ability to correspond with customers and sales staff. Acts as a mentor and trains lower level techs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Disassemble and Analyze Work: * Review paperwork and information on tab. * Prioritize repair relative to highest priority/date of receipt. * Disassemble and inspect work. * Ensure repair is consistent with quote, assist with new quote, if needed. * Assist staff with the quote process. * Follow procedure regarding quote Beyond Economical Repair, refer to inside sales if necessary. * Support creating procedure requirements. Order Parts: * Determine parts and labor needed to complete work. * Complete requisition including part number. * Deliver quotes to purchasing. * Assist staff with the requisition process. Repair and Test Units: * Refurbish and repair units per specifications, replacing parts as necessary. * Provide technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, cylinder repair, etc. * Ability to manufacture small parts if unit obsolete as needed. * Reassemble unit and test to ensure unit is operational with specifications. Testing: * Ensure unit is operational within specifications. * Assist staff with technical training. * Ensure maximum efficiency of unit. Document Work: * Document work completed on computer system and daily time sheet. * Include work completed, time expended and procedure used. * Review process to ensure compliance. * Train all staff as needed regarding processes. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent experience and 3 to 5 years' prior related experience in mechanical or hydraulics and/or cylinder repair and troubleshooting required. Technical degree in a related field with equivalent experience and the ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions preferred. OTHER SKILLS * Light manufacturing, telecommunications, cable or utility market experience a plus. * Manual dexterity and ability to read specs. * Soldering and welding experience a plus. * Forklift experience a plus. * Problem solving and analytical skills. Must have basic computer skills. EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE KNOWLEDGE: * Hydraulic and cylinder equipment repair machines including hydraulic crimping machines, hose cut offs, torches and grinders helpful. Lathe, drill press and basic hand and power tools. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist lower level technicians with troubleshooting and training.
