The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in maintaining the hotel building and ensure the safe and effective operation of hotel facilities and equipment in line with Hilton and hotel policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?

As the Assistant Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Responsible for receiving, recording and distributing work orders, banquet bulletins, function order and make necessary priorities, project orders to be forwarded to the Chief Engineer.
• Make records and gives daily personnel report before 9.00 am
• Is responsible for work schedules and coordinates.
• Is responsible for receiving consumption report from Section Engineer , give possible comments and forward to Chief Engineer
• Is responsible for receiving consumption reports from Section Engineer, and prepare statistics.
• Is responsible for keeping complete set of structural / mechanical / architectural / electrical / ventilation / plumbing / furniture / drawing and paint scheme of entire hotel with physical plant.
• Is responsible for all information service / enouncement for engineering employees.
• Is responsible for keeping Chief Engineer informed without delay of progress, report, function, and complaints.
• Is responsible for informing / requesting all extra meals for employees / working overtime in addition to schedule engineering employees.
• Is responsible for keeping equipment history file up to date.\
• Is responsible for order and cleanliness throughout assigned area.
• Is responsible for preparing attending Engineering staff meeting.
• Follows all other orders, instructions, rules and regulation that may be issued.
• Learn his and Chief Engineer's Job Description.
• ACE to assist in carrying out Chief Engineer's job description.
• Make inspection as necessary to ensure that Chief Engineer's instructions are adhered to.
• Assume responsibility in Chief Engineer's absence.
• Keep Chief Engineer informed of happenings in the department.
• To ensure that all safety rules and regulations are complied with.
• To monitor spare parts/supplies.
• Make sure that Engineering staff neat and clean.
• Attend meeting as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
• Responsible for all the system undertaken by Engineering Department.
• Follow all other instructions / rules and regulations that may be issued.
• Carry out any other related tasks assigned by the hotel / company.

What are we looking for?

An Assistant Chief Engineer serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• Junior College graduate.

• Proficient in English to meet business needs.

• At least 10 years of experience in hotel / building services or other appropriate engineering fields.

• At least 5 years in a Duty Engineer position or 2 years in an Assistant Chief Engineer position in a 4 / 5-star hotel.

• Have specialized knowledge on water treatment, hydraulics, mechanics, chillers, air flows, H.V.A.C., L.V., electronics, sound, TV, lighting, elevators, boilers, pumps, etc.

• Capable of maintenance for all hotel building services including air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical installation, lighting system, plumbing system, boiler, laundry, kitchen, lift, fire protection, escalator, sound system, TV system, etc.

• Possess knowledge of the requirements of government regulations and technical rules.

• Capable of following specifications for hotel services.

• Possess knowledge of energy conservation.

• Capable of training Engineering team members.
