MTC Property & Maintenance Specialist in Centerville, Utah

Position Summary:

Reports to the Director, Corporate Administration. Performs a variety of tasks which includes light building cleaning and maintenance. This is an in-office position at our Headquarters in Centerville, UT and the pay rate is $25 per hour.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform preventive maintenance as directed.

  • Monitor building management systems.

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in common areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and break rooms.

  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are stocked and in good working condition.

  • Regularly check and restock restroom supplies. Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitary, and stocked at all times.

  • Assist in keeping grounds, parking lot, and parking structure clean and free of debris or litter.

  • Monitor the condition of the facility and grounds and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed, vandalism, or improper use of property.

  • Conduct quarterly emergency lighting tests and submit written report.

  • Maintain a comfortable climate in all offices. Take periodic temperature readings during times of extreme weather conditions.

  • Escort fire department on bi-yearly inspections.

  • Set up conference rooms for meetings; assist with events as needed.

  • Run basic errands, as needed.

  • Monitor ice makers and coffee machines throughout building.

  • Ensure adequate knowledge of various machines and equipment used in mail services and maintenance.

  • Perform mail pick up, postage and delivery functions as needed.

  • Provide help in supervising and assisting property management firm and contractors working in the building.

  • Escort and assist HVAC, plumbing, elevator, electrical, and other contractors during their preventative maintenance visits to ensure work is done properly.

  • Complete monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance on the equipment and systems not under contract to be serviced by an outside vendor.

  • Maintain excellent relationship with building tenants and provide them with high level and responsive service.

  • Respond to emergencies in off hours, as required.

  • Assist in maintaining relationship with city and county agencies, nearby businesses, and local law enforcement.

  • Maintain accountability of property; adhere to safety practices.

  • Ensure day-to-day activities promote sustainability and reduce the impact on the environment by minimizing waste and maximizing recycling; saving energy; and minimizing water usage.

  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience.

  • Two year building management certificate preferred.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service skills.

  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record and personal vehicle in good working order.
