Job Description
This position is part of the Global Strategy & Operations function and will be responsible for driving planning and execution of Medical and Scientific Affairs efforts on complex projects in a timely fashion and within budget.
The incumbent will be accountable for partnering with the Endoscopic Solutions Ecosystem (ESE) and Digital Unit (DU) to ensure proper MSA sub-functional staffing and support of priority programs. He/She will plan, in conjunction with multiple MSA sub-functions, project scope, milestones and resource needs, and will monitor progress and budget while keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project life cycle. The Sr. Project Manager (PM) will strongly support the development of sustainable business processes and documentation to reinforce and improve organizational agility and operational performance. This role is highly cross-functional necessitating collaboration with stakeholders within MSA, across ESD/TSD in multiple regions, and within the broader organization as appropriate.
The Sr. PM is responsible for directly and indirectly driving MSA engagement and collaboration across the his/her portfolio(s) while communicating various progress reports and reviews with senior leadership.
The incumbent will report directly to the Global Lead, Program Management, and will engage MSA functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance working practices and adherence to operational processes.
Job Duties
Drives and supports continuous process excellence/improvement initiatives as prioritized and approved by MSA leadership with the newly onboarded ESE and DU partners.
Determine and document portfolio and project scope and objectives by onboarding sub-functional SMEs onto key Digital initiatives.
Drive Evidence Generation Strategy discussions with development teams and for post commercialization initiatives.
Build team ownership and commitment to project and business plans and define project milestones, deliverables, and associated resource and budget requirements.
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
Stakeholder management- Provide updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution
Proactively manage project-related actions and deliverables, holding team members and functional managers accountable for completion
Support prioritization of global projects/processes based on business needs and available resources.
Assess performance and recommend change as necessary to support the development of harmonized global processes.
Documents new and revises existing process documentation including Quality Documents, process maps, tools, and training materials.
Any other miscellaneous functional initiatives/business needs as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
BS degree in engineering or scientific/technical field required.
MS or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical.
Minimum of 10 years of experience preferably in a clinical, R&D, engineering, or project management role, interfacing with new product development.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with digital medical products within industry.
Experience with applicable FDA guidance, ISO 13485 regulations, and applicable industry standards.
Experience with and/or training in change management.
Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Position requires up to 15% domestic & 5% international travel
Preferred:
Effectively demonstrated planning and organizational skills with background and experience in project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities; highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift, responding well under pressure, and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance.
Strong knowledge and application of global regulations and good document management practices highly preferred.
Technical expertise of PM Tools such as Microsoft Project and/or SmartSheet; expertly proficient in Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Word.
This position will require constant collaborative interactions with co-workers across functional groups and departments. Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to operate highly effectively in a team environment.
Excellent group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to expertly analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, develop integrated, creative solutions– and to implement these solutions.
