We are looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join our team!
For over 66 years, Starlite Recovery Center has been providing adult clients in the heart of the Hill Country in Center Point, Texas, with caring and highly effective drug rehab for substance abuse, alcohol addiction, and co-occurring issues.
Starlite Recovery Center is part of the Acadia Healthcare system, a provider of addiction, behavioral and mental health treatment facilities in the United States, United Kingdom and Puerto Rico.
This position is on-site working Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm.
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Perform clerical duties associated with obtaining, completing and maintaining the patient’s record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Be aware of the requirements for 45 CFR and 42 CFR (HIPAA) on all patient medical records.
Sort, file and collate a variety of medical records and information such as progress notes, treatment plans, nursing/clinical notes and discharge summaries into the patient’s medical record.
Complete daily audits on discharged patient medical records.
Provide a weekly report on patient medical records for any deficiencies.
Complete a monthly and quarterly analysis on patient medical records.
Ensure medical records are complete, accurate and timely.
Research lost or missing records/information in accordance with established procedures.
Answer requests for medical records from outside agencies and third party sponsorship.
Ensure patient medical records are organized for easy retrieval.
Provide record retrieval for storage facility when needed.
Monitor destruction of records on a monthly basis per company policy.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in quantitative Medical Records reviews preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
