Our anticipated hiring range based on final qualifications of candidate, $32.00 - $40.00 hourly.

This position will primarily work from the Road and Bridges Peoria Service Center located at 7600 South Peoria Street, Englewood, Colorado, 80112.

The Road and Bridge Paving Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of daily work assignments, jobsite contract traffic control, acquiring asphalt, utility locates, monitoring project performance, and ensuring that repair, maintenance, and construction activities are completed according to project specifications. Assists with the hiring of personnel; coordinating vehicle repairs; and calculating/ordering of various materials and/or products. Works directly with Lead Road Maintenance Technician and the Operations Manager to schedule work and ensure goals are successfully completed. Responds to service requests and interacts with the public regarding construction projects or specific concerns. Supervises snow shifts and determines appropriate staffing and scheduling needs. Tracks and manages purchases and other expenditures for all projects or assignments. Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties associated with the supervision of assigned crews which include, but are not limited to, installing, repairing, and maintaining assigned assets within the County Right-of-Way (ROW). The primary duties of this position: Supervise all aspects of an asphalt patching crew including, scheduling, equipment, quality, costs, safety, and snow removal in the winter months. This position requires a person who can work evenings, holidays, weekends, and on-call for snow or other emergency events. This position will be expected to plan, organize, and assign all crew members daily work assignments with an emphasis on safety, quality and production. P ecise method for tracking of project materials and accurate entries into Accela for material tra Maintains supervisory responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and construction of the County's assets that are within the County ROW roads and assets; inspects assigned assets to determine deficiencies and maintenance needs; provides input into annual work plan for county roads; assists in establishing maintenance priorities and schedules as required to maintain County's assets on a daily and seasonal basis; assists in determining work methods and procedures required to maintain specific assets. Supervises assigned crew in daily work assignments which includes giving daily work assignments, being responsible for jobsite traffic control, performing the role of the Traffic Control Supervisor, acquiring utility locates, ensuring safety rules are followed, and monitoring project performance and ensuring repair, maintenance, and construction work is completed in accordance with specifications. Trains crew on correct work and sa Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities; recommends and implements resulting policies and procedures. Assists in the hiring of personnel which includes interviewing, making recommendations and selection. Provides supervision which includes completion of annual performance reviews, setting performance goals for employees; providing input for Operation Section's salary calibration, writing and delivering verbal and written corrective actions; training and developing employees in areas of work processes and safety; and ensuring compliance with all approved County guidelines such as personnel guidelines.
