Patten CAT Truck Parts Program Coordinator in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Working Hours/Days

M-F, 7 am - 4 pm

Overview

The primary role of the Truck Parts Program Coordinator is to provide outstanding customer support to OEM truck dealers, independent shops, and truck customers to promote genuine Caterpillar parts and satisfaction with Caterpillar truck engine products. This support includes building relationships with truck dealer staff, providing training, assisting with systems support, administrative duties, and promoting parts sales discount programs to increase Caterpillar truck parts sales. This person is the key liaison between truck dealer parts departments and Altorfer parts departments to ensure smooth parts ordering operations. The position requires in person sales calls and office support of truck dealers to increase sales of Caterpillar truck parts.

Basic Duties

  • Manages the overall relationship between Altorfer and truck dealers to promote Caterpillar parts sales in assigned territory.

  • Renew and initiate Truck Engine Product Support (TEPS) dealer agreements.

  • Evaluate Truck (TEPS) dealers against established performance standards.

  • Proactively and aggressively promote all current parts and service marketing programs.

  • Resolve customer service support issues to ensure Caterpillar truck engine users receive exceptional product support

  • Coordinate truck (TEPS) dealer parts, service, and warranty training.

  • Ensure truck (TEPS) dealer staff are properly trained on Cat systems. (PCC, CMIS, SIS, truck.cat.com, etc.)

  • Provide technical assistance to truck (TEPS) dealers parts, service, and warranty departments where necessary.

  • Works closely with Altorfer parts departments and truck centers to ensure all customers receive an exceptional level of service.

  • Supports and promotes Altorfer’s culture and values

Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in this business/industry.

  • Mechanical/technical aptitude and knowledge of/exposure within the on-highway truck industry.

  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation, and organization skills.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to influence and effectively promote all parts and service offerings/marketing programs.

  • Proficient with technology/software (specifically Microsoft Office products and CRM type software)

  • Must be willing and able to travel as required and must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on candidate).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Work is normally performed both indoors and outdoors with moderate noise conditions. Limited exposure to all weather conditions is associated with this position. Physical requirements may include speaking, listening, writing, typing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, sitting for prolonged periods of time, managing stress. Job hazards may include tripping, slipping, falling, jobsite hazards, hand injuries, driving related hazards, equipment movement, overexertion due to stress and fatigue. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields) when needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Noise level in the office environment is usually moderate to low. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
