This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a high-impact FP&A leadership role, reporting directly to the Senior Director of FP&A. With six direct reports, you will have a significant influence on shaping the financial strategy and performance of the organization.

You’ll drive key portfolio financial planning events and deliver consolidated financial insights with strategic recommendations directly to senior leaders, including the VPGM and Portfolio CFO. Your contributions will be instrumental in steering the company’s direction while ensuring we meet our financial objectives.

This role offers substantial cross-functional collaboration, giving you visibility and influence up to the Mission Systems Senior Leadership Team (SLT). If you're ready to lead at a strategic level and make a tangible impact, this is the role for you!

The role will be onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role is eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and oversee the C4I&A Portfolio FP&A function, managing a team of six direct reports across multiple locations.

  • Partner closely with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.

  • Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various business units to align financial plans with operational goals and objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, offering recommendations and guidance on key financial matters.

  • Foster talent growth through collaborative assessments of current knowledge, skills, and abilities, crafting actionable plans for training, personal development, and advancement opportunities.

  • Create individualized development plans for department employees with quarterly reviews.

  • Provide visible engagement as a mentor and coach to your team.

  • Contribute to the annual review of process maps and Collins Management Initiative.

  • Participate in CORE events or delegate appropriately.

  • Drive initiatives to optimize financial processes and systems, leveraging technology and automation where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics

  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with FP&A management experience including consolidations

  • 5+ years experience in leading or mentoring a team

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering detailed analytics.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, driving high-quality work through team efforts.

  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting principles.

  • Proven leadership in mentoring and developing an engaged, learning-focused team.

  • Excellent analytical ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and ERP systems (SAP, HP, HFM, OneStream).

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with experience interacting with senior executives.

  • MBA or CPA preferred

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
