The Iron County School District is seeking TWO Full Time Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ Mental Health Therapist to begin work in August for the 2024-2025 school year.  *These positions will remain open until filled. *

*The LCSW/ Mental Health Therapist works through the assigned school administrators and with school counselors to develop and implement appropriate responsive mental health services. The LCSW/ Mental Health Therapist provides social work services to parents, students, and school staff. When appropriate or necessary, LCSW/ Mental Health Therapist may provide information for outside support services to help students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. *

  • *Conducts evaluations (behavioral rating scales, inventories, interviews, classroom observations, etc.) and interprets data (from functional behavior assessments, rating scales, etc.) to benefit students with disabilities. *

  • *Works directly with students with mild/moderate mental and emotional disabilities, students on the autism spectrum, and students with behavior, mental, and social needs. *

  • *Provides individual and group counseling and social skills groups with students. *

  • *Works to develop appropriate relationships with all students and faculty/staff within the school building to be viewed as a trusted adult. *

  • *Is prepared and participates in behavior counseling, individual or group settings, intervention, collaboration and other means, specific to social/emotional learning, behavior needs, and others as assigned or needed. *

  • *Serves as a member of a Multidisciplinary Team to provide input on need and eligibility for special education services, IEP development, and Behavior Intervention Plans. *

  • *Works directly with special education support personnel and direct instructional personnel to plan the proper instruction and placement of students. *

  • *Obtains, integrates, and interprets information about student behavior and conditions relating to learning. *

  • *Provides professional development, training, and consultation for faculty and staff on evidence based practices regarding social, emotional, and behavioral supports and interventions for students. *

  • *Provides updates, training and ongoing consultation for building administrators regarding best practices in counseling. *

  • *Provides counseling services. *

  • *Coordinates with outside agencies and services when necessary. *

  • *Consults with teachers and administrators regarding appropriate academic and behavioral interventions. *

  • *Consults with parents regarding individual student needs. *

  • *Consults with school-based counselors, especially in the area of response to behavioral concerns and students in crisis, as well as academic interventions. *

  • *Monitors the maintenance of timely and accurate student records, assessments, and reports and takes measures to maintain confidentiality at all times. *

  • *Maintains accurate and timely monitoring and data tracking of special education rosters and student tracking systems for compliance within Iron County School District Student Data Collection Procedures *

  • *Maintains regular in-person, on-site visits with regard to meetings, collaboration, and fulfilling other assigned duties and responsibilities. *

  • Will prioritize on-site visibility and availability to school staff and others as necessary.

  • *Maintains responsive lines of communication among students, parents, and staff involved with all special education programs. *

  • *Provide suicide assessments when needed and make appropriate recommendations based on those assessments. *

  • *Provide/assess safety plans upon students reentering the school system after a known suicide attempt or hospitalization for suicidal attempts or ideations. *

  • Part of the district crisis team and respond to a variety of crisis's district wide.

  • Attends professional seminars, conferences, district meetings, and workshops as required by the position and with administrative consent.

  • Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required
