SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY Assistant Professor of Printmaking in CEDAR CITY, Utah

Assistant Professor of Printmaking

 

The Department of Art and Design at Southern Utah University, an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Printmaking who will participate in advancing and growing our studio arts program. This position is full-time, 9-month, tenure track. The desired start date is August 16, 2024. Salary is commensurate with qualifications & experience; excellent benefits.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Instruct courses in Silkscreen, Relief -Printmaking, Intaglio/Lithography, Drawing, and other printmaking subjects - equivalent to 18 Student Credit Hours (SCH) annually.

• Participate in writing new courses and curricula.

• Supervise and maintain the printmaking studio facilities.

• Advise students majoring in printmaking and related art fields.

• Mentor students in their artistic projects.

• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and service initiatives.

• Candidates are expected to engage in peer-reviewed creative/scholarly pursuits.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

• Assistant Professor candidates must hold an MFA in Printmaking or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level.

• A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in printmaking.

Other Requirements as assigned:

 

• Proven ability in various printmaking techniques, with an emphasis on guiding student learning.

• A firm commitment to excellence in teaching within a team-oriented environment.

• Professional experience in traditional printmaking arts.

• A record of accomplishment in exhibitions, print showcases, or other relevant platforms.

 

Desirable Experience:

 

• Experience in curriculum development is highly valued.

• Active involvement in professional associations related to printmaking.

• Professional work in a printmaking-related industry.
