Overview The Iron County Office for Utah State Extension seeks a qualified individual to coordinate and plan 4-H afterschool programming in Iron County. This position will provide overall program support to all afterschool sites. The Site Coordinator will work to find and maintain community partnerships to benefit all sites. You will work up to 22 hours per week.

Responsibilities Primary Duties:

  • Assist in the administration of Iron Countys 4-H After-school program.
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to all after-school grant expectations, obligations, budgets, and details.
  • Work collaboratively with the 4-H After-school staff to deliver high-quality programming that positively impacts youth and families.
  • Maintain regular communication with afterschool staff and work closely with them to ensure proper implementation of program procedures.
  • Promote 4-H After-school programs at various community events throughout the year. 4-H After-school Program Site Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Professional Development

  • Attend all mandatory professional development trainings for after-school programs.
  • Obtain and maintain food handler permits and CPR certification. After-school Programming Sites:

  • Participate in Back to School events and teacher professional development days to recruit students for 4-H After-school programs. 4-H After-school curricula:

  • Help to plan and organize all supplies necessary for implementing the curriculum at each school site.

  • Assist in planning and executing youth service projects at each site on a quarterly basis.
  • Help to develop a detailed monthly schedule and calendar for youth and parents. 4-H After-school Family Night Outs:

  • Attend Family Night Out activities on a monthly basis.

  • Ensure all supplies are properly stored and the facility is left clean and organized after each event. Mentors:

  • Attend local job fairs and marketing events to attract potential mentors.

  • Arrange and manage mentor schedules for each afterschool location.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth.
  • Experience working and/or desire to work with youth and their families
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Must be available for all hours of program operation Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with after-school programs

  • Skills in social media and other forms of marketing
  • 4-H experience
  • Curriculum planning or education experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High degree of self-motivation

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills- Word, Excel and Internet
