We're seeking a dedicated and versatile Caretaker to join our school community for the 2024-2025 year. The Caretaker will be critical in maintaining our 63-acre campus, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This position requires a mix of outdoor and indoor responsibilities, focusing on general maintenance, emergency response, and animal care outside our operating hours. Ideal Candidates- Experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or related fields- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC systems- Comfortable with animal care, including goats, chickens, and farm cats- Able to operate snow removal equipment and perform manual snow-clearing- Knowledge of basic pest control methods- Flexible schedule to handle off-hours emergencies and daily end-of-day walkthroughs- Interest or experience in sustainable practices and permaculture is a plus- Legally authorized to work in the United States Key ResponsibilitiesOutdoors:- Maintain pool during off-hours- Perform animal care duties during off-hours- Conduct an end-of-day walkthrough of buildings and grounds- Handle snow removal and de-icing- Manage trash and recycling- Maintain outdoor lighting systemsIndoors:- Recording daily UV numbers- Oversee laundry facilities- Manage basic pest control- Respond to fire and security alarms- Perform basic carpentry and plumbing tasks- Maintain HVAC systems, including cleaning mini-split, ERV, and furnace filters Compensation and BenefitsThis part-time, around-the-clock position would be ideal for someone with remote and flexible work, such as a student or a retiree.
