Indian Health Service Supply Technician in Cass Lake, Minnesota
Summary This position is located in the Property & Supply Department of the Cass Lake Hospital in Cass Lake, Minnesota. The incumbent is responsible for performing technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operations of ongoing supply activities of the Property & Supply Department. Responsibilities Maintain stock and establishes or adjusts stock level to assure adequate stock of supplies and material are available. Conduct physical inventories and make adjustments to maintain inventory and stock account records. Review and/or screen documents specifying supplies of materials needed for work operations, and collate and assemble lists of equipment and parts needed. Initiate, prepare, edit and process requisitions for stock replenishment. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications for GS-04: 1 Year of General Experience OR 2 Years of Education above the High School Level. General Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Minimum Qualifications for GS-05: 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 Grade Level OR 4 Years of Education above the High School Level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples include: Maintaining inventory, stock, and/or property account records; preparing pick lists and receiving reports & receiving supplies through automated systems. Minimum Qualifications for GS-06: 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 Grade Level. Examples include: Utilizing the electronic inventory management system (M-System) or a similar automated system for ordering and receiving supplies, reviewing orders to ensure correct quantities of supplies ordered. Minimum Qualifications for GS-07: 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 Grade Level. Examples include: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment or parts. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. At least a 6 month service agreement will be required. This position has promotion potential to the GS-07 grade level. Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and is based on your demonstrated ability to perform the higher level duties, the continuing need for the higher level duties, and "Regulatory/Administrative" approval.
