Job Title: Heavy Equiptment Mechanic

Location: Casper, WY

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20 - $26 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Overview:

Adecco is currently seeking Heavy Machinery Mechanic for a local client in Casper, WY this is a temporary to hire position. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment. Your primary duties include inspecting mobile heavy equipment, identifying operating deficiencies, and addressing excessive wear on machines or components. You will work with various tools and equipment to dismantle, rebuild, adjust, and repair systems such as drive trains, hydraulics, fuel, air, brakes, pneumatics, electrical systems, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems on both mobile heavy equipment and highway-legal trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect mobile heavy equipment to identify operational deficiencies and excessive wear.

  • Utilize hand wrenches, hammers, impact tools, torque wrenches, grinders, screwdrivers, measuring devices, overhead hoists, cranes, slings, chains, electrical and hydraulic testing tools, micrometers, gauges, and various hand tools.

  • Dismantle, rebuild, adjust, and repair primary systems on heavy equipment and trucks/trailers.

  • Provide time estimates, inventory parts, and identify special tools needed to complete projects to the shop foreman.

  • Complete all repairs and ensure that machines, trucks, and equipment are fully operational and ready for productive work.

  • Accurately complete and submit work orders.

  • Perform minor fabrication, alterations, and repairs using MIG, TIG, and oxygen/acetylene welding and cutting equipment.

  • Operate various equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and heavy machinery.

  • Read and understand oil reference guides, cross-reference materials, and heavy equipment manuals.

  • Efficiently use a computer to access manufacturer guides and service manuals.

  • Utilize diagnostic test equipment to repair equipment and electronic components.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with exposure to construction and/or mining equipment.

  • Experience gained through technical schools, on-the-job training as a mechanic, or as a mechanic's helper in a shop, heavy civil construction company, or mine.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting oil reference guides and heavy equipment manuals.

  • Strong knowledge of test equipment for diagnosing and repairing equipment and electronic components.

  • Ability to operate various equipment, including forklifts and heavy machinery.

  • Welding and cutting experience with MIG, TIG, and oxygen/acetylene equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, perform repetitive tasks, and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching) for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and varying temperatures.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour
