Job Title: Material Planner
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Material Planner to join our Supply Chain function. This role is based at our manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ, and you will report to the Material Planning Manager.
Responsibilities
Create and deploy supply requirements to the supply base (over 200 Tier 1 suppliers and over 3,000 parts & components) via MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives.
Build and maintain operational partnerships with assigned suppliers, acting as the primary interface for delivery status, challenges, and resolution.
Ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance in collaboration with the supplier base.
Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including Purchasing, NPI, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Logistics, etc.
Proactively communicate with all organizational levels on material-related issues, including shipments between suppliers/plants, while mitigating potential impacts on customers.
Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and other analyses needed to plan production and business targets.
Provide data-driven decision support through what-if and scenario planning.
Apply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage system parameters and meet inventory and service level goals while minimizing cost and obsolescence.
Complete action plans to improve supplier performance and scorecards in collaboration with the Purchasing Global Supply team.
Support new product rollouts by assisting in establishing the supply chain effectivity date.
Lead improvement projects that deliver organizational benefits, including increasing OTIF and reducing lead times.
Review inventory levels and modify orders for stock replenishment, applying best practices for inventory reduction and optimization.
Track metrics on assigned activities to drive results and continuous improvements in Department activity.
Lead meetings related to part shortages, supplier constraints, internal and external planning, and supplier metrics.
Handle other projects or assignments as needed.
Direct and support the allocation of resources for material handling responsibilities.
Hold employees accountable for following processes, metrics, and assigned projects or assignments.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's in Supply Chain. CPIM or APIC training is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of Material Planning experience in an automotive or volume manufacturing environment.
One or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
Ability to analyze, evaluate, and react to issues affecting the manufacturing schedule.
Strong knowledge of MRP processes; SAP experience, with a solid understanding of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure-to-pay processes, and supply chain operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate and analyze data to present clear recommendations to leadership.
Skills in supplier operational and relationship management.
Effective writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
Passion for results, strategy, and hands-on execution.
Ability to develop result-driven data, lead meetings, and create PowerPoint presentations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
SAP, MRP, Tableau, Microsoft Suite, Clear to Build experience.
Intermediate experience with MS Excel.
Experience with MRP, ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.) systems.
Experience in automotive manufacturing and volume manufacturing.
Work Environment
The work schedule is from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
