Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in Carson, California. As a Controller, your main duties will involve supervising all accounting and financial functions, managing the financial close process, and maintaining effective collaboration with the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all accounting and financial functions within the company. • Oversee the financial close process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded. • Collaborate with the accounting team to analyze financial data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with accounting standards and regulations. • Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the close and reporting processes by creating and documenting procedures. • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues and work closely with departments to address them. • Identify opportunities for reducing financial surprises and enable informed decision-making by leadership. • Foster efficiency and professionalism within finance and accounting functions. • Develop existing team members to optimize the performance of the finance function. • Coordinate financial and operational analysis with internal and external partners. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial guidance and answering inquiries. • Stay updated on accounting standards, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

• Proven proficiency with 3M and other relevant accounting software systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential

• Proficiency in using CRM and Crystal Reports

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience with auditing practices and procedures

• Proven ability to manage and oversee budget processes

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity

• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

• Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• detail oriented certification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.
