Description

We’re seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join our client's team and play a vital role on the accounting team. Key Responsibilities:
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for:
Managing the entire Accounts Payable cycle, including proper coding, reconciling discrepancies, and entry/uploading into Spectrum software.
Facilitating payments to consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers while maintaining a virtual AP filing system.
Investigating and resolving issues related to processing invoices and purchase orders.
Managing lien waiver disbursement and collection to ensure compliance.
Overseeing Accounts Receivable processes and collaborating with Construction Project Managers from start to finish to ensure accurate and timely receivables and payables.
Entering journal entries, preparing general ledger reconciliations, and conducting comprehensive report analyses.
Leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and associated transactions.
Applying required construction accounting standards and procedures to accurately record and report on construction activity.
About You:

Work Ethic: A proactive team player who is eager to take on tasks at all levels — you’re not above rolling up your sleeves to handle everything from AP (100-150 invoices/week) to reconciliations, AR, and beyond.

Exceptional Organizational Skills: You excel at managing multiple responsibilities and keeping everything on track.
Collaboration Focused: You communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including Project Managers and vendors.

Requirements
Experience working in a multi-company environment, with previous construction accounting experience highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
Strong understanding of current construction accounting standards and compliance requirements.
Experience with the general ledger, journal entries, and all aspects of full-cycle accounting.
Strong Excel skills are necessary.
