Responsibilities

• Installation: Pipefitters install pipes that carry various substances such as liquids, gases, and steam. They ensure that the piping systems are set up properly to prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation.

• Fabrication: They cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using specialized equipment. They may also fabricate piping sections in a workshop before installing them on-site.

• Maintenance and Repair: Pipefitters perform regular maintenance on piping systems to ensure they are functioning correctly. They also troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise.

• Reading Blueprints: Understanding and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and specifications is essential for installing piping systems accurately.

• Welding and Soldering: Pipefitters often need to weld or solder pipes together, requiring skill in these techniques.

• Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all work complies with safety standards and regulations is a critical part of the job.
