About the Role

This position reports directly to the Assembly Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below: #LI-Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach that follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee’s Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.

• To identify growth and developmental opportunities and on-going training needs of personnel that will provide for an overall positive working environment.

• To follow Company policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.

• To persuade and support the following of Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of the operations of the Company.

• To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.

Who we are looking for

• To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.

• Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.

• Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.

• Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.

• Complete all required safety-related inspections.

• Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.

• Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely.

• Responsible for the overall operation, direction, and supervisory duties of the Maintenance Department.

• Participate in the cross-functional team for the purchase of new equipment for the launch of new programs, etc. Oversee the installation of equipment, commission and complete customer sign-off process.

• Measure the success of the maintenance team through trend analysis and categorize these trends.

• Record trend analysis on equipment in order to identify high maintenance items and determine cause of equipment failures through defect analysis.

• Lead continuous improvement activities of the maintenance team for reducing maintenance downtime.

• Perform maintenance tasks such as interfacing with the process control team and react to urgent requests that could impact production.

• Prioritize maintenance requests; distribute daily job assignments, review maintenance logs and daily supervisory responsibilities of the maintenance team.

• Coordinate activities of contractors performing work on-site.

• Maintain quality procedures as they relate to maintenance requirements and documentation thereof.

Your preferred qualifications

• Must have Associate’s Degree in related & technical field of study. Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. A combination of schooling toward a degree & work experience will be considered.

• Basic computer knowledge an asset.

• Engineering degree not required but would be an asset

• Minimum two years in a supervisory position.

• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
