Southwire Job Description

Individual is responsible for handling the day-to-day business functions at a store and corporate level, serving as primary or supporting contact as determined by account. Will expedite: logistics, A/P, inventory, EDI, PCM, and item stocking issues. The Account Manager is also responsible for implementing price changes for the customer. Individual is self motivated and seeks new opportunities and responsibility

General Description of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of communication and proactive interaction with the buying staff and/or store associates within customer base.

  • Manage and coordinate daily routines of customer service including but not limited to, quotations, order management, material analysis, and expediting.

  • Responsible for maintaining customer price sheets and making recommendations on future price changes

  • Provide sales and marketing analysis and expediting as needed.

  • Maintain ongoing correspondence with designated Southwire sales agents responsible for given customer base.

  • Provide daily sales functions including inside Southwire and on-sight support at customer locations as needed.

  • Quote prices and availability of products and follow-up on all quotes. Must understand territory and competitors well enough to make informed decisions regarding pricing. Recognize and coordinate quotes that overlap into other territories.

  • Receive, acknowledge and process customer orders in a timely manner.

  • Use Southwire Wire and Cable division’s ISO Quality System Documentation to help guide and direct activities.

  • Initiate service requests when necessary and financial adjustments, when a credit or debit is due to the customer.

  • Request and coordinate assistance from Technical Support and/or Product Managers to resolve customer inquiries.

  • Keep field sales representatives/agents informed on status of orders, return material and customer concerns that may require personal attention.

  • Perform in a team environment by achieving personal territory goals and functioning as support for members to meet departmental objectives, along with their territory goals.

  • Learn in detail and in depth, the make-up of the Southwire product line.

  • Possess conversational knowledge of Southwire sales policies and procedures in order to understand appropriate referrals.

  • Monitor key measurements for the assigned territory/territories and customers

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

1.Requires Bachelors degree.

2.At least two years business experience required. Retail sale experience preferred

3.Ability to travel at least once a month

4.Ability to work weekend trade shows

5.Must have Windows experience, as well as being proficient with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, and/or Powerpoint)

6.Must have good speaking and writing skills.

7.Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of responsibility at Southwire, along with industry representatives, and corporate buying staff.

8.Ability to handle multiple tasks and willingness to accept new responsibilities is a plus.
