Manager, Platform Engineering

Allegion is looking for a passionate Manager, Platform Engineering to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage a team of platform engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure high-quality delivery of projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business objectives and technical requirements.

• Define and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable platform solutions.

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of platform infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and performance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements, ensuring the platform meets current and future needs.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize platform performance, reliability, and efficiency, leveraging automation and monitoring tools.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in platform engineering, and apply them to enhance our platform capabilities.

• Monitor and analyze platform metrics and performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as product management, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of platform solutions.

What we’re looking [SJ1] for:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant years of work experience.

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Proven experience in platform engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of platform infrastructure and architecture.

• Experience in managing and leading engineering teams, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• Experience with platform technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable.

• Preferred:

• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements related to platform infrastructure.

• Experience working in a matrixed organization.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

• The expected Base Salary Range: $116,300 - $174,900. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

• Bonus Eligible: Yes
