Fluidra ’s looking for a C ontract Import Logistics Specialist to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. This is a temporary position covering a paternity leave, estimated to run through December 2024.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

The Import Logistics Specialist will effectively coordinate the import shipments by working closely with Freight Forwarders and other departments to ensure timely deliveries to our Distribution Centers.

  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely arrival of goods.

  • Assist with all necessary import and export related documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, shippers’ letter of instruction, and any other document as necessary.

  • Adhere to international shipping procedures and minimize compliance risks by collaborating with internal key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with Trade Compliance to obtain the US HTS codes, as needed.

  • Review Import documentation for accuracy and obtain B/L from freight forwarders and maintain international shipping documentation required per the company’s record retention policy. Assist with export shipments, if needed.

  • Assist and coordinate International & Domestic transportation with overseas sister companies and Distribution centers, as needed.

  • Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with suppliers and coworkers.

  • Communicate effectively with the other supply chain departments (planning, production, procurement, customer service, Distribution Center).

  • Respond to customer inquiries related to import and export activities in a timely manner.

  • Help manage the claim process for all damaged goods in transit including communication to stakeholders, as needed.

    WHAT WE SEEK

  • 2+ years working experience in the import/export field, specifically international import shipping.

  • Knowledge/ experience in international trade and Customs regulations, such as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), customs valuation, preferential/ free trade agreements, and rules of Country of Origin, Incoterms is required

  • Proficiency in managing systems and using different technological tools to complete tasks

  • Must be good communicator; strong written and verbale English proficiency, can cross-collaborate with multiple departments and carry out changes and updates to team members.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a positive attitude.

  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools

  • Fluency in English required and Spanish (preferred) – writing, oral and interpersonal communication

  • Familiar with freight bookings, rail cut dates and processing customs

    EDUCATION

  • High school Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.

    Expected hourly rate range is $ 31.25 - $ 35.5 0 . The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
