Mukuru Junior Management Accountant in Cape Town, South Africa

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Assist in ensuring all financial transactions have been processed correctly and accurately in NetSuite.

  • Assist in the analysis of financial information of various cost centres to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and/or cost reduction.

  • Assist in reviewing P&Ls to ensure they are accurate and in line with various Head of Department allocations.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly business/cost centre reviews for Senior Leadership.

  • Create and submit accurate monthly management accounts to the Senior Management Accountant.

  • Provide continuous feedback to the Senior Management Accountant regarding information in the P&L.

Budgeting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual cost centre budgets and the compilation of the overall business's budget.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget information for integration into NetSuite.

Data Extraction

  • Assist with data extraction from NetSuite and various other financial platforms for monthly management and shareholder reporting, quarterly business reviews, and annual budgeting.

Ad Hoc / General

  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Senior Management Accountant.

  • Proactively look to develop own skills to better meet the requirements of the team/business.

  • In addition to the above, you may be requested to perform various ad hoc tasks to assist with the greater Business Partnering team needs.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma.

  • Studying towards or completed CIMA, SAIPA, and/or SAICA (desirable).

  • 3 years' experience in a financial environment or completion of CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA articles.

  • 3 years' experience with multi-national group structures, preferably across the African continent and/or the UK (preferable).

  • 3 years' experience with finance business systems across ERP platforms, preferably NetSuite.

  • 3 years' experience working in financial services or highly regulated industries (beneficial).

  • 3 years' experience working in high growth/fast-moving organizations (preferable).

  • Advanced time management and organizational skills (essential).

  • Advanced MS Office skills (essential).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word – Advanced Level).

  • Knowledge of financial ERP systems and computerized accounting packages.

  • Knowledge of multi-currency calculations (Intermediate).

  • Knowledge of IFRS and SA Accounting practices.

  • Analytical Thinker.
