Job Summary 

The Supply Chain Reporting & Analytics Senior Analyst is a key thought partner for the Supply Chain Management team (including Category Management, Supplier Management, Supplier Sustainability and Procurement Operations) and related business partners.  The Senior Analyst will use category management methodologies to generate strategic insights from spend forecasting, market analysis, and cost modelling to support category initiatives, drive down cost, and develop strategic relationships with suppliers.  Additionally, the Senior Analyst role will generate and manage dashboards and reports used by various business partners for driving data-driven decisions.   

Principle Duties and Responsibilities 

  •  Create, publish, and monitor relevant supply chain metrics and reporting to provide data visibility and support business needs, highlighting areas of risk with solution options 

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and business partners to gather reporting and data requirements across all categories of spend   

  • Prepare, execute and respond to internal and external data and reporting requests to support regulatory requests, industry/benchmarking, etc

  • Provide analytical support and deliver strategic insights and recommendations on category projects and initiatives, including but not limited to 

  • Spend forecasting and analysis 

  • Market analyses and trends 

  • Cost modeling and bid analysis 

  • Financial reporting, budgeting, and expected project savings 

  • Design and build internal and external analysis tools/templates to encourage self-service analysis and reporting 

  • Prepare and deliver training on scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools  

  • Synthesize insights into concise and impactful presentations to support NiSource strategic objectives 

  • Manage the process of data collection to ensure data quality and on time delivery 

  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of Supply Chain data by leading stakeholders through periodic reviews and data cleansing exercises 

  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support NiSource strategic objectives, including Supplier Diversity, Safety, Supplier Management, etc. 

     Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related area or minimum 3-5 years of analytics experience 

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-undergraduate professional experience in analytics field

  • Strong technical skills in data visualization and analysis software (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or other) and proficiency in Microsoft suite of business applications (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word) 

  • Experience in combining data from various sources to produce cross-functional analytics 

  • Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to analyze information to provide insight-driven recommendations 

  • Excellent quantitative skills, and ability to develop and perform complex numerical analyses under minimal supervision from lead analysts

  • Ability to identify challenges and propose creative solutions 

  • Proven ability to build, manage, and foster a productive, collaborative team environment 

  • Excellent communication, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills 

  • Strong knowledge of data governance techniques in the analytics space

Preferred 

  • MBA or advanced degree 

  • Utility industry experience 

  • Knowledge and experience in procurement, category management or related function 

  • Knowledge or experience with SAP Ariba 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Experience in leading change management and affective positive organizational, process or culture change

  • Experience with data acquisition methods and tools (Tableau Prep, Power Query, Python)

  • Comprehensive understanding of data modeling.

  • Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.

  • Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations.

Salary Range:

$77,400.00 - $116,200.00
