Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Assists with providing efficient, quality patient services by registration of patients in the Radiology information System, coordinating patient flow, and verifying and communicating examination protocols to patients. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets and assists patients presenting for procedures; enters and retrieves accurate information into the RIS.

• Provides clerical support to all diagnostic imaging sections within the department, such as order clarification, faxing reports, answering phones, retrieving and preparing files and films for radiology consults.

• Schedules all imaging and cardiology studies, verifies authorizations, verifies insurance, gives preps to patients, and processes all paperwork for ABS.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• 1 year experience in a medical or office setting, or comparable education required.

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and keyboarding skills.

Preferred

• Experience in radiology setting a plus.
