Job Summary
This is a high-level office position, which is accountable for implementing and maintaining the company's Safety and Health Procedures for a larger, more complex division.
Key Responsibilities
Develops and manages division safety and health budget
Assists in the development and implementation of corporate programs and initiatives
Recruits and hires qualified safety and health professionals to fill open positions
Assigns qualified safety and health professionals to projects and assignments
Manages and funds training/career development programs for safety and health professionals
Directs annual Performance Management process for all division safety and health professionals
Approves promotions, bonuses and salary adjustments for all division safety and health professionals
Directs corrective action for performance issues of safety and health professionals
Manages division offices and project safety and health performance
Manages safety and health component of division's strategic plan
Develops and implements safety and health programs that assist division to meet company and division safety and health goals and expectations
Develops division and project specific safety and health and loss control programs and processes
Develops and conducts employee safety and health training programs
Implements, administers and maintains Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Program for a division
Manages International Lifeline Program
Administers company Worker's Compensation programs and procedures
Coordinates division Emergency Action Plan and Disaster Recovery Program
Conducts division safety and health performance evaluations
Conducts site safety and health inspections and safety and health program audits
Conducts incident and injury/illness investigations
Writes detailed investigation and safety and health progress reports
Interfaces with clients and government officials
Interfaces with key division and corporate management
May act as SafetyandHealth Consultant for internal and external clients
Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of director reports
Serves as a mentor to other safety and health professionals
Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value
Champions continuous improvement efforts
Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements
Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities
Supervises Safety andHealth Intern, Safety and Health Specialist 1, 2,and3, Safety and Health Manager 1, 2,and3
Management Responsibilities
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ year in a construction environment preferred
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of international safety and health standards and practices
Knowledge of safety and health standards and practices . Knowledge of company substance abuse policies and procedures
Knowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract administration
Knowledge of insurance program administration including owner-controlled and contractor-controlled insurance programs
Knowledge of project and division safety and health budgeting and cost control
Knowledge of worker's compensation policies and procedures
Knowledge of environmental laws and company and client programs, procedures
Knowledge of security risk and control processes and procedures
Knowledge of company safety and health consultation capabilities and ability to perform as a consultant
Ability to effectively interface with client and government officials
Communication skills
Ability to effectively manage emergency situations
Word processing and spreadsheet computer software programs

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, Certified Safety and Health Professional, and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist. 12+ years safety and health management experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
First Aid, CPR, Drug testing certified, OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, OSHA 10 hour
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Physical Demands:
• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
• See and hear naturally or with correction.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
• Requires repetitive movement.
• May require work above 5 feet in height.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

• Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
• Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
• Work around hazardous equipment.
