The Opportunity:
The Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer will assist towards the through-life support of a number of ADF capabilities and enablers. You will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team working with various and numerous stakeholders for projects across the Joint & Air Domains.
The position will focus on successfully delivering the outcomes contracted for the project, for building the value of the KEY-team brand with the client and maximising the opportunities for business growth within the operating rules applicable to the MSP. Close coordination and alignment with the other EWIS-JA Projects, as well as the capability manager, is essential to success.
This is a full-time permanent position, based in either Canberra or Adelaide.
Interstate applicants are welcome to apply however relocation to Canberra or Adelaide will be required.
This position will require an active NV1 AGSVA clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing test plans, strategies, and procedures to assess system performance, functionality, and reliability.
Analysing system requirements to create verification and validation criteria, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
Conducting test activities, monitoring conditions, and collecting accurate data for analysis.
Assessing test results, preparing detailed reports, and recommending system improvements.
Identifying risks associated with testing and recommending mitigation strategies.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues discovered during testing.
Developing or implementing test automation tools to streamline T&E processes.
Managing and maintaining testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Promoting continuous improvement throughout the T&E process.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
5-7 years’ experience as an Engineer, with a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the full lifecycle of systems integration and test processes.
Proven experience in systems engineering, test, and evaluation, ideally within defence
Previous involvement in complex defence projects, including systems integration, field testing, and acceptance testing.
Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, with a focus on verification and validation.
Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
Skilled in using test automation tools and test management software, and capable of managing test resources and equipment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with risk assessment and management, particularly within high-stakes environments.
