Responsibilities You will serve as the network administrator with the responsibility for defining and executing the total breadth of activity required to ensure the continuous availability of the Network. You will ensure that the base's network will provide a wide range of services that are vital to the accomplishment of the mission. You will be responsible for providing Network connectivity to a continuously growing Network. You will be the subject matter expert as the Technical and Network Engineering primarily responsible for IP related activities. You will be responsible for providing design, project implementation, operational support and management of a multi-site and security network system. You will provide high level support for incidents and customer generated requests as part of the position responsibilities. You will be responsible for the design, configuration, build, installation, tuning and operation of network routers, switches, and other supporting network equipment. You will provide when expertise troubleshoots and problem-solving solution. You will provide the ability to communicate both in writing and orally in addition to being a strong team player while providing excellent customer service. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Report testing and implementation plans to establish testing criteria of program projects are accurate and complete. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommend support requests for network services by administering systems support. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide formal or informal training ensuring users understand the relationships of the system and able to work with the system without interruption. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Test and analyze computer malfunctions to resolve physical operating problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Serve as the network administrator isolating nature of system failures and equipment issues; analyze communication requirements to identify components, software support for operational needs; demonstrate network engineering by analysis development, maintenance and modification of systems; and provide guidance of regulations, polices, and procedures.
