Sodexo Food Production Manager 2 in CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina

Unit Description

Sodexo is currently seeking a Food Service Production Manager 2 to join our team at the US Marine Corps-MARSOC Location at Mess Hall RR135 Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. Our MARSOC location at Stones Bay is a subdivision of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and is home to the Marine Corps special forces and Weapons Battalion. MARSOC's mission is to recruit, train, sustain, and deploy scalable, expeditionary forces worldwide to accomplish special operations missions assigned by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). To accomplish that, they equip and train Marines to succeed in austere conditions against a wide range of adversaries. Marine Raiders execute complex, distributed operations in uncertain environments, achieving silent success and strategic impact. Mess Hall RR135 feeds approximately 6,000 - 9,000 meals per week. RR 135 Unit is located at 135 Range Rd, Stones Bay N.C. 28445

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Oversee the food service program at a long standing Govt contracts Mess Hall

  • Has an impeccable attention to detail within a food establishment

  • Someone that can deliver on tight budgetary confines

  • Undserstands the importance of full food management contract execution

  • Can handle multiple challenges of contract management

  • Is able to act as the number two when the Operations Manager is off site

  • A leader that promotes and mentors his/her team to excellence

  • Has excellent communication skills

  • Create a positive environment

  • Ensure Sodexo Standards are met

The ideal candidate:

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;

  • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;

  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;

  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and

  • is experienced with menu planning & forecasting processes, and understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HACCP forms, temperature logs, safety audits, inventory management, etc.)
