Amentum Protocol Analyst in Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii

Amentum is seeking a dynamic Protocol Analyst to provide protocol and ceremonial functions, ensuring adherence to protocol standards, and facilitating high-level interactions and events in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. This position is a short-term requirement with a period of performance through 30 Sep 24 .

USINDOPACOM Protocol Analysts play crucial roles in ensuring the smooth execution of high-level events and interactions, maintaining protocol standards, and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute official ceremonies, receptions, conferences, and meetings.

  • Arrange visits for high-ranking officials, dignitaries, and foreign military leaders, including itinerary planning and accommodations.

  • Coordinate logistical aspects of events, such as transportation, venue setup, seating arrangements, and catering.

  • Ensure adherence to protocol standards and customs during official events and interactions.

  • Provide guidance on cultural etiquette and customs to ensure respectful and appropriate conduct during interactions with foreign dignitaries.

  • Advise on appropriate attire for various events and occasions.

  • Act as a point of contact between the front office and other J-Dirs, facilitating communication and coordination.

  • Manage the schedules of senior leaders, ensuring no conflicts, and coordinating with relevant parties.

  • Handle correspondence related to protocol activities, including invitations, thank-you notes, and official communications.

  • Maintain records of visits, events, and protocol activities for future reference and reporting.

  • Prepare and deliver briefings on protocol procedures and event details to senior leaders and staff.

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on protocol standards, etiquette, and cultural awareness.

  • Develop contingency plans for protocol activities in case of emergencies or unexpected changes.

  • Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to improve future protocol activities; identify and implement best practices in protocol management and event coordination.

  • Prepare and submitting reports on protocol activities, including event outcomes and resource usage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), including:

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting protocol services

  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS)

  • Knowledge of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region

  • Experience in operational and/or strategic levels of DoD planning and/or execution

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient at authoring analytical and/or policy documents

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance, and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, or Graduation from a military command and staff college

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting protocol services

  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS)

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officials

The salary range for this position is $150K to $175K (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
