Amentum Finance/Procurement Analyst in Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii

Amentum is seeking a dynamic Finance/Procurement Analyst with planning and administrative experience supporting Financial and Procurement Operations Management. This position will directly support U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Science and Technology Division (J85) at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

You would be an excellent candidate for this position if you:

  • Are a self-starter professional who takes initiative to work independently, after initial instructions are provided.

  • Can troubleshoot and seek financial solutions by coordinating with various team members and stakeholders through multiple communication channels.

  • Have supported the planning, processing, and tracking of financial and procurement related documents and helped to maintain related archives;

  • Have synchronized planning, administration, staffing and knowledge management activities among higher headquarters staff to enable operational management activities;

  • Have utilized various supporting IT platforms to enable operational activities, such as Shared Drive, web-based, and other NIPR/SIPR platforms;

  • Have always ensured that everything runs smoothly and on budget;

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Specific duties include:

This role requires a strong foundation in project management, financial analysis, and procurement processes, along with excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills to ensure the success of Science and Technology (S&T) projects. Specified tasks include:

  • Develop and manage detailed budgets for individual defense projects.

  • Work with Ops Leads to establish budget forecasts and financial plans.

  • Monitor project expenditures and compare them against the budget.

  • Track all project-related costs, including Material and other direct costs.

  • Provide explanations for cost overruns or savings and recommend corrective actions.

  • Prepare financial reports specific to individual projects.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project financial status to government stakeholders.

  • Ensure that funding is available when needed and optimize cash utilization.

  • Develop procurement plans tailored to the needs of individual projects.

  • Identify and source materials, equipment, and services required for projects.

  • Coordinate with Ops Leads to align procurement activities with project timelines.

  • Coordinate the supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

  • Implement inventory control measures to support project needs without excess inventory.

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial and procurement activities related to projects.

  • Collect data on project costs, procurement activities, and financial performance.

  • Provide financial and procurement support to ensure project success.

  • Participate in project planning, review, and progress meetings.

  • Conduct regular reviews of processes and recommend enhancements.

  • Provide training to team members on project finance and procurement procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business (or related field) from an accredited college or university

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • 2 years' experience working in the USINDOPACOM AOR

  • 2 years’ experience in DoD Finance/Procurement

  • Proficient at authoring analytical and/or policy documents

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to provide information, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level equivalents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance or business (or related field) from an accredited college or university

  • Top-Secret clearance eligible for SCI

  • 2 years’ experience at the Echelon 2 or 3 operational/organizational level

  • 3 years' experience working in the USINDOPACOM AOR

  • 2 years’ experience in DoD Contracting/Acquisitions

  • APDP/DAWIA Level I or higher

The salary range for this position is $135K to $150K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
