U.S. Marine Corps ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF G5 PLANS in Camp Foster, Japan

Summary You will serve as the ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF G5 PLANS in the G-5 Division of Marine Corps Installations Pacific-MC Camp Butler (MCIPAC-MCBB). ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the development, management, and oversight of detailed MCIPAC-MCBB plans and policies, including the development, review and update of Operational Plans (OPLAN). You will serve as the command representative during meeting and conferences involving higher and adjacent units and acts as the command's direct liaison with the Other US government agencies and military forces. You will advise and coordinate the identification and implementation of "best practices" across the Pacific region and direct and oversee the efforts of multiple MCIPAC-MCBB teams. You will interpret policy and advises command executive leadership concerning the underlying intent, programmatic concepts, and goals derived from service-level requirements. You will plan subordinates work while setting and adjusting organizational requirements to employees on both work and administrative matters. You will hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level for resolution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating expertise in developing mid to long-range operational planning and contingency plans; AND demonstrating expertise in installation functions, centered on force protection, sustainment, and command & control; demonstrating extensive knowledge of Joint, Service, and Combined Directives involving planning and operational employment of forces and rear area operations. Conditions of Employment continued: This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. You will be required to obtain and maintain a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) Driver's license. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
