Amentum Quartermaster/ROWPU/Water Treatment Plant Operator in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Kuwait

Work in Kuwait is contingent upon the applicant’s ability to obtain a work permit from the State of Kuwait, which is requested on the applicant’s behalf by their employer. Effective January 1, 2021, the Kuwait Public Authority of Manpower issued new work permit regulations, informing contractors that it will not issue a work permit to any individual who is fifty-nine (59) years or older and holds a high school grade certificate or less. A bachelor’s degree or higher is required for all candidates fifty-nine (59) years or older. See Administrative Decision No. (520) of 2020 AD – Amendment to the Administrative Decision No. (552) of 2018 on Issuing the Work Permit Regulations. Candidates with a current Visa 18 (residency visa) are excluded from the education requirement.

Purpose: The Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer will be responsible for the Diagnostic, Troubleshooting and Repair of all Water Purification Equipment, forced air-heaters and special purpose equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow technical instructions, and record data such as residual content of chemicals and water pressure.

  • Possess water plant hydraulic and electromechanical operation and troubleshooting skills.

  • Mechanical ability to facilitate diagnosis and repair or water treatment equipment; calibrate and maintain inline instrumentation.

  • Maintain and repair electrical/fuel heater, systems, pumps, decontamination systems, protective filter systems, reverse osmosis water purification systems.

  • Adds specified amounts of chemicals into water or adjust automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water.

  • Service internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electrical systems.

  • Possess basic understanding of water treatment techniques and equipment used in the reverse osmosis process.

  • Must make rapid, appropriate decisions to improve simple to complex problems.

  • Perform damage assessment and repairs; cleans tanks and filter beds.

  • Repair and lubricate equipment within the allocated maintenance schedules and also Unscheduled Maintenance.

  • Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to speak English and read/comprehend technical manuals printed in English.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) year relevant accredited coursework, or equivalent work experience, required.

  • Ability to inspect, repair and maintain water purification units required.

  • Working knowledge of chemical treatment programs, filtering systems and laboratory testing highly preferred.

  • Prior Military experience as a 91J or equivalent preferred.

Certification, License & Clearance:

  • Driver’s license may be required.

  • Water treatment license issued by a Department of Health highly preferred .

  • Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.

Facility credentials/authorization required : Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
