Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Sr Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer in our Camden, AR facility. The Sr. Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform technical supervision and troubleshooting of complex operations involved in the manufacture of Warhead mixing, casting and assembly operations.

  • Originate, prepare, and maintain detailed planning (Standard Operating Procedures) for the manufacture of inert/energetic components.

  • Perform hands-on pilot operations for manufacture of new inert/energetic components, and development program components.

  • Accurately report problems, solutions, and results in concise written and oral communications.

  • Perform mathematical calculations for geometric checks and chemical mixtures.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering relevant experience.

  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering related experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Manufacturing Engineering related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of and ability to use CAD software.

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels.

  • Ability to prepare and present effective technical and non-technical presentations.

  • Prior defense industry experience.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, practices and concepts.
