University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Web Administrator in Cambridge, Maryland

The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science has an immediate need for a full time contractual (up to 6 months) Web Administrator. The position is in Cambridge, MD at University Administration, but it can possibly be hybrid/remote for the right individual (within the geographical region to still commute when needed). In this role, the individual will be responsible for:

Regularly update website content and ensure it aligns with company standards.

Perform routine site audits and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Implement and manage website backups and restore procedures.

Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop).

Basic understanding of server management and hosting environments.

Familiarity with database management (e.g., MySQL).

Strong understanding of web security practices and protocols.

Familiarity with SEO best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.

Monitor website performance, uptime, and other KPIs.

Collaborate with IT and development teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Implement and maintain web security protocols to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

Regularly update website software, plugins, and other components to ensure security and functionality.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years proven experience as a Web Administrator, Webmaster, or similar role. They should also have experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP and also be proficient in using content management systems (CMS) like Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, etc.

A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field preferred. Hiring range is $28-32 per hour. Limited benefits, including health benefits are available.
