Regal Rexnord Quality Technician in CAMBRIDGE, Maryland

Position Summary

The Quality Technician position will inspect products according to specifications and standards. Document non-conformances and work with associates to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Hours worked

This position normally works 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday (5:00am - 3:30pm) with a forty-hour work week and Fridays off. Some overtime may be required to meet production demands or to meet customer needs.

Description:

  • Performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
  • Records statistical data.
  • Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.
  • Duties and tasks are standardized.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Works independently and as a team promoting cohesion within Regal Rexnord while following standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned and known tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, as well as verifying that various hard gaging is within acceptable dimensional tolerances.
  • Conduct audits and analyze data to identify corrective and preventive improvements
  • Conduct 8D and 5Why investigations of issues
  • Read and interpret the requirements of drawings.
  • Analyze drawing requirements and make sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.
  • Use inspection equipment (ID/OD mics, calipers, various other gages) in determining product acceptance.
  • Initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision
  • Actively participate in process and department improvement discussions.

Experience and Skill Required

  • High school or GEDA minimum of 3 years of Quality experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing setting.
  • Basic knowledge of ASME-Y14.5 (Geometric Tolerance) and ability to apply/inspect to requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques used to verify product conformity, effective manufacture, and distribution of goods, required.
  • Highly productive with a strong sense of urgency and orientation to details, accuracy, and excellent outcomes. Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to internal processes and change, delays or unexpected events. Ability to respond to adversity or restrictions of the organization with resilience and tenacity.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, including a demonstrated ability to synthesize, interpret, and communicate to a variety of different groups.
  • Must have the ability to read and calibrate all gauges available in the plant.
  • High Level verbal and written communication skills- English primary
  • Work in a constant state of alertness
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with SAP MRP system preferred but not required.
  • Experience with FM and UL inspection documentation desired but not required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently to constantly.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility. Sit or stand for long period of time.

Compensation: $20.00 - $27.50/h .
