Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire you and empower you to shine? Join Takeda as the USBU Financial Planning & Reporting Lead at the Associate Director level. This position can be located in Lexington, MA or Cambridge, MA.

As the USBU Financial Planning & Reporting Lead, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Head of USBU Business Planning & Analysis to drive the Financial Planning cycles and monthly management reporting, act as the Finance Business Partner to DD&T, manage Other General & Administrative (G&A), Other Sales & Marketing (S&M expenses), and below the line items (restructuring expenses, other income and expenses, legal settlements, etc.), and the coordinating ad-hoc projects.

How you will contribute:

Providing strategic support for the Mid-Range Plan (MRP), Mid-Year Commitment (MYC) and Long Range Forecast (LRF) financial planning process and analysis and the monthly close management reporting, as well as serves as the Finance Business Partner to USBU DD&T.

Monthly Reporting:

  • Analyze the accuracy of financial results, determine variance drivers, write insightful commentary and review overall USBU performance commentary upon completion by the BP&A team.

  • Ensure both routine and ad-hoc data requests are prepared accurately, submitted timely and with the highest level of quality.

Business Planning & Analysis:

  • Provide strategic support to develop the process, approach, format and content for the planning cycle submissions.

  • Develop key messages based on understanding of results, trends and events impacting the business and partnering with USBU Finance.

  • Responsible for periodic and regular ad hoc financial performance and key performance indicator reports as needed.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Analytics and Forecasting and Corporate BP&A for USBU Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Corporate submissions.

Finance Business Partnering:

  • Drive the development and consolidation of USBU DD&T budget, including Capex.

  • Support and influence key operational and strategic decisions and provide visibility to financial targets.

  • Improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance.

  • Establish partnerships and maintain strong relationships with the DD&T team.

  • Manage other General & Administrative (G&A), such as Franchise tax, etc., Other Sales & Marketing (S&M expenses), such as development programs, procurement rebates, etc., phasing related adjustments, cost package -related adjustments, and below the line items (restructuring expenses, other income and expenses, legal settlements, etc.).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; in Finance or Accounting preferred

  • Pharmaceuticals/Biotech/Commercial experience preferred

  • 8+ years of overall business finance or accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in financial/business planning and analysis roles.

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous leadership roles.

  • 1+ years’ supervisory or project/program management experience and 3+ years of experience in business partnering

  • Intellectually curious

  • Experience dealing with ambiguity

  • Organized

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including strong Excel modeling and system skills

  • Passionate about business partnering

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
