  • Demonstrated experience with the administration of bargaining unit policies and procedures

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multi-task effectively 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS applications and analytics including Peoplesoft

  • Work experience in higher education

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in executing tasks based on shifting priorities

  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion 

  • Master’s degree in relevant field

Physical Requirements:This individual will attend meetings at various campus locations, primarily in Cambridge, MA.Working Conditions:Work is performed in an office settingPosition Description:Reports to the HR Director for Harvard College and is responsible for providing specialized HR consulting services to the College.

  • Provide guidance, consulting, and problem resolution for all human resources related issues.

  • Coach and advise managers in orientation, performance management, employee engagement, retention, career development, and other HR related matters.

  • Consult with and advise managers and employees on employee relations including HUCTW related items.

  • Work closely with managers and employees to mitigate human resources risks

  • Partner with FAS HR Talent Acquisition Consultants to provide recruitment, selection and hiring actions and activities for staff.

  • Advise, interpret, and communicate regarding all FAS HR and HHR policy, practice and process.

  • Collaborate with managers to diagnose organizational design, staff development and training needs.

  • Manage salary administration, compensation activities and internal equity for new hires, reclassifications and reorganizations.

  • Support the implementation of the annual merit increase and bonus process.

  • Arrange for and/or provide HR related training to clients/staff.

  • Educate managers and supervisors on their obligations under the contract and how to work cooperatively with union representatives. Guide managers on workplace policy, procedure, and decisions to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement..

  • In partnership with the Office of Labor and Employee Relations, serve as point of contact for union representatives and employees regarding contract interpretation, grievances and other labor-related matters.

  • Partner with Office of the General Counsel to ensure compliance
